Rev. Lucy Ijams
Rev. Lucy Ijams began her half-time service as consulting minister of the Fellowship on September 1, 2013. A native of Long Island, Lucy has visited Vermont numerous times since childhood to ski and visit friends. She is thrilled to call Vermont home.
Rev. Lucy and her three brothers were raised Catholic. After several teenage and young adult years of not going to church, she found her religious home at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Brunswick, Maine in 1983. Feeling herself called to the ministry, she earned the Master of Divinity degree in 1994 from Andover Newton Theological School outside Boston. Lucy became the Reverend at her ordination in 1996.
Rev. Lucy supplied pulpits in several congregations in each of the four states where she resided since 1990. She served the UU Church in Meriden, CT from 1996 until 2010, when she became the consulting minister at the UU Church of Utica, NY. Lucy shares her Bennington apartment with adopted cats, Kitty and Tiger. She loves to dance, sing, go to the movies, watch TV, play word games, and spend time on the coast of Maine.
Welcome, Rev. Lucy!
